A company called Nomorobo has come up with a way to greatly reduce the number of robocalls or calls from telemarketers you currently get. By signing up for their service and setting up your phones on it, you will see that the amount of those annoying robocalls and other telemarketer calls will be greatly reduced. I set it up for my landline and Nomorobo is doing the trick. I hardly get one of those annoying calls thanks to Nomorobo. I rarely get a robocall or a call from a telemarketer. So far in this 2014 election cycle I have gotten no robocalls from any party or candidate.
Nomorobo does not support all services. My family uses Verizon for our mobile service and currently Verizon has not added Nomoromo to their service. In case you are wondering, Nomorobo does NOT block calls from your doctor’s office, prescription reminders, school closings, etc. Nomorobo maintains a database of numbers used by telemarketers as well as robocall numbers. If you sign up and find out that you do not like the service you can remove your number from it. There is no risk.
There is no charge or obligation to use the service. It is totally free and very easy to set up.
Last but not least should a phone solicitor get through, answer everything by saying, “Yes”. A few years ago when we bought our car it came with a 90 day trial of Sirius radio after which if we decided to keep it there would be a monthly charge. We decided not to keep it and kept on getting calls from Sirius trying to sell us their product. Finally, they called and I answered every question with “Yes”. Can we have your credit card? “Yes” What is the credit card number? “Yes” We never heard from them after that.
You probably are reading this before you too are annoyed by telephone solicitors and robocalls. Nomorobo will get rid of almost all of them so you can have your meal without them interrupting you.
